JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The RJ Case Manager Specialist I shall provide case management services with referred individuals and their families while also implementing appropriate restorative justice practices.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field, can be within four (4) months/one semester of obtaining degree; up to three (3) years of experience.
• Interest in working with justice-involved and disenfranchised populations is highly desired.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities in written reports/business correspondence are required.
• Effective oral communication skills to include demonstrated ability of public speaking or presentations to groups.
• Proficient with MS Office software.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Maintains caseload consistent with Alternative to Detention program requirements, restorative justice, and case management processes in the assigned catchment area.
2 Implements case management processes upon receipt of the referral to include assessment, development of case plan, and monitoring case plan through case closure and discharge.
3 Maintains a daily contact schedule for each client referred which involves day phone contact and weekly face-to-face meeting while the client is under supervision as an alternative to detention.
4 Facilitates restorative justice practice for assigned cases consistent with department and project requirements once the charges are referred to VOA Restorative Justice.
5 Compiles, inputs and tracks case management and restorative justice processes in online case management system.
6 Complete and maintain accurate documentation for case management and restorative justice practices in the online case management system consistent with policies.
7 Complete all required reports and documentation consistent with program standards and funding requirements.8 Assists in the recruitment of community volunteers.
9 Represents VOA and VOA Justice in the community.
10 Cultivates and maintains relationships with community organizations to provide support services for conferences participants.
11 Seeks and engages in personal and professional development opportunities.
12 Participates in staff meetings and supervision meetings.
13 Assists with special projects as assigned.
14 Assists and supports all VOA Restorative Justice project sites including case management and travel.
