About the Job
Are you a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with restorative care experience looking to take your nursing career to the next level? We are looking for a driven, kind and patient CNA to become our new Restorative Care Aide (RCA). The RCA is responsible for providing care to a resident that is designed to strengthen muscles, assist with mobility, promote independence and prevent functional declines.
Responsibilities and Purpose
- Encourage the residents to perform tasks for themselves as appropriate and as assigned by the Staff Nurse and the residents’ overall plan of care.
- Practice good body mechanics while delivering restorative nursing care to prevent injuries to self or to others.
- Provide good body alignment, positioning devices and contractures padding.
- Monitor and assist with the performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote resident involvement to the highest extent possible.
- Evaluate and document the residents’ progress. Communicate results to the Staff Nurse and seek input and supervision from the Staff Nurse to confirm findings.
- Report to the Staff Nurse any adverse conditions experienced by the resident during the provision of restorative nursing care including, but not limited to, pain.
Desired Experience and Education
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Completed additional instruction and training in restorative care procedures with appropriate documentation as evidence of completion.
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long Term Care environment preferred.
