The Barista plays a vital role in enhancing guest satisfaction and supporting overall profitability by delivering exceptional customer service while upholding Sodexo Live!'s standards for consistency, quality, and safety. Your primary responsibility is to enhance the guest experience through the preparation and service of high-quality coffee beverages and quick-serve snack items in a fast-paced concessions setting. This role combines expert knowledge of coffee and beverage preparation with a dedication to customer satisfaction, safety, and efficiency. As the face of the coffee bar, the Barista maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment, ensuring that guests receive their orders accurately, promptly, and with friendly, professional service within Shedd Aquarium; one of the world's premier cultural institutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare and Serve Beverages & Snacks: Craft and serve coffee drinks, beverages, and snack items with precision and care, ensuring each item meets Sodexo Live! standards and guest expectations.

• Guest Satisfaction & Teamwork: Contribute to a goal of 100% customer satisfaction through a commitment to teamwork, engaging service, and a positive attitude.

• Safety & Cleanliness Standards: Consistently maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment, following Sodexo Live!'s safety protocols.

• Problem Solving & Memorable Experiences: Act as a passionate problem solver and memory maker, going the extra mile to create a warm, welcoming experience for every guest, whether local or visiting.

Other Requirements:

• Able to operate safely and effectively in an environment with wet floors, temperature extremes, and noise, and can lift up to 50 pounds.

• Able to maneuver in tight spaces and work efficiently within them.

• Able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used by guests.
