Now Hiring an Armed K9 Officer to work at a Premium Shopping Mall in Atlanta, GA!
- Previous canine experience not required, training provided
- Daily care allowance for canine care (Plus all training and equipment)
- Pay Rate: $27.50 / hour
- Location: Phipps Plaza - Peachtree Rd
- Must have previous Professional firearm experience (Law Enforcement, Military, 3+ years Armed Security)
- Take home company vehicle
- Company provided equipment

Allied Universal® is hiring a Retail K9 Security Officer. The K9 Officer is accountable for the delivery of K9 Services for assigned sites. This role is responsible and accountable for assigned deployments and established patrols, and the care, custody, and control of a company-owned canine, to include but not limited to, proper housing and transportation standards. The K9 Officer must maintain K9 Team training standards (as established by Allied Universal), training coordination/administration, tracking K9 team financials, and vehicle maintenance records.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deploy and patrol with K9 at assigned work sites
- Conduct routine and prescribed searches utilizing the K9
- Maintain K9 Team training standards
- Administrative duties, such as but not limited to, cost tracking, accident/incident reports, daily activity logs, training logs, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Maintain an expansive and contemporary knowledge in K9 tactics
- Act as a liaison with clients, senior corporate staff, and Allied Universal® field management
- Develop and deliver K9 demonstrations to new clients and the general public
- National travel, as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months)
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Maintain K9 team certifications as required by Allied Universal
- Post hire, must successfully complete 9 weeks of training to include:
- National K9 certifications
- Operational K9 Training
- Defense tactics
- Firearms training
- First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- OC Spray
- ASP Baton
- Driver's training
- Minimum of three (3) years of security experience
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
- Highly organized and able to keep management on track with required information available at all times
- Proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology including Personal Digital Assistants, Nextel phones/pagers, mail merges, Access databases, Outlook, and Internet applications
- Articulate and able to use independent judgment and discretion
- Outstanding oral and written interpersonal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
- Prior experience in dual purpose (patrol/detection) K9 handling
- One or more of the following:
- Service in any military branch (including Guard and Reserve)
- Law enforcement role, with a completed accredited Law Enforcement Academy (Municipal/State/Federal)
- Municipal or federal correctional officer, including attending a full-time accredited LE/Corrections Academy
- Armed Security - (private or contracted)
