Retail Store Associate
We are currently recruiting for a Retail Store Associate to join the Benchmade Knife Company team. The Retail Store Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer services to all customers who come in to visit our onsite retail store.
This role works with direct salesmanship, and prompt and courteous service; completing transactions in a quick and efficient manner, minimizing delays to customers; developing thorough knowledge of all merchandize carried by Benchmade in the stores, catalogs and websites offering selection guidance to customers. This position will perform all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assignment by management.

- Performs all functions relating to the handling of merchandize or cash in accordance with corporate policy in a timely and customer friendly manner
- Administers all point of sale opening and closing procedures in accordance with corporate policy
- Resolves all customer complaints in a manner consistent with company policy, and with customer satisfaction in mind
- Resolve customer questions and concerns in a positive, helpful manner.
- Participate regularly in product knowledge training and be able to communicate features and benefits to all customers
- Be an accountable face of the company to assist in meeting sales goals.
- Assist in maintaining a well-stocked and neat store appearance
- Ensures that all customers receive a receipts on all purchases
- Work as part of a team and contributes to the overall display and presentation efforts within the store environment, including stocking, replenishing merchandise, following visual merchandise guidelines, and general store housing keeping duties as assigned
- Participate in physical inventory counts as required.
- Weekend availability is required
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role is required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.
- Positive attitude and customer service friendly with a passion for excellence is required.
- Experience with cash handling is preferred
- Solid communications skills with a demonstrated ability to speak read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents as well as converse professionally with all customers.
- Handle money, refunds and exchanges with a high level of accuracy at the register
- Quickly and accurately place orders for knives and collect payment; provide receipt for all transactions
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
- Learn new technologies as they become available
- Cross train and work in other areas of store/company as needed
