About the Job
Innovative Air, Inc. is seeking an experienced Revit/AutoCAD Drafter for a full-time position. The successful candidate will work primarily with a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in conjunction with design and estimating staff to create Revit/AutoCAD drawings and models for HVAC and Plumbing design projects.
Primary Job Functions:
- Work with Project Managers and Engineers to generate drawings and details in REVIT/AutoCAD for building design documents to be used for plan review submittal and installation of mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing systems.
- Complete basic HVAC ductwork and/or plumbing piping designs and drawings with Engineer's and designer's guidance. Clearly convert and develop Mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing plans and layouts into appropriate digital formats for distribution to design team members, including architects, and other engineers, design professionals, and contractors.
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and technical specifications.
- Visit job sites as required to facilitate design and generation of required technical documents.
- Work with limited supervision to complete project tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate directly with architects, engineers, general contractors and other subcontractors via email, video conferencing, by phone or in-person to coordinate specific project tasks, resolve project issues and request necessary information required for successful project completion.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years Drafting experience.
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Self-motivation and a desire to learn the required aspects of mechanical engineering as it relates to HVAC & Plumbing design.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PDF editing programs such as Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills and aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand architectural and technical plans, specifications, details, and equipment submittal documents.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-pasted work environment and meet consistently meet tight project deadlines.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Technical Drafting degree.
- 2+ years of experience drafting HVAC and Plumbing systems.
- Experience with additional Autodesk software:
- Navisworks
- Fabrication CAMduct
- Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC Systems and products.
- Working Knowledge of latest Oregon Specialty Building Codes (OMSC, OPSC, OSSC)
- Desire to grow and advance to higher levels of the profession, including designer and project manager positions.
