Engineering Manager IC Design - Austin, TX / Nashua, NH
Description
We are seeking a technical leader and experienced Design Engineering Manager for our Broadcast Products division. This team is responsible for creating complex mixed-signal ICs geared towards RF and Automotive applications.
Responsibilities
- Management and Technical leadership of the Broadcast RF/Analog Design group
- Works with VP of Engg, Design and Marketing managers to define roadmaps and next generation products
- Project management including planning of resource/schedule/cost estimates, driving execution, resolution of actions, reporting of progress and results
- Ownership and hands-on participation in architecture, design and verification, algorithms, layout, validation of the product
- Responsible for hiring full-time engineers and interns
- Research design techniques through technical publications and seminars
Qualifications
Education Requirements
BSEE +10 years , or MSEE +8 years or PhD in EE +5 years of experience
RF experience preferred
Minimum Requirements
Previous management of an IC Design group highly desirable
Previous direct design experience in RF and Analog/Mixed-signal circuits in DSM processes
Knowledge of CMOS fabrication processes, transistors and parasitics
Knowledge of RF building blocks e LNA, Mixer, PGA, ADC, DAC, VCO, PLL, Voltage/Current references
Knowledge of RF system design e noise figure, IP2, IP3, AGC, filtering, frequency conversion, feedback systems
Knowledge in signals, systems, transforms, noise analysis
Understanding of layout tradeoffs for performance and size
Knowledge of circuit simulation tools, Matlab, and UNIX
Proficiency in layout verification, DRC, LVS
Additional skills
Knowledge of digital design flows
Laboratory measurement skills
Familiarity with quality systems documentation and procedures
Excellent written and verbal skills

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $126,500 - $241,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
