RF Engineer
Contract Length: 1 year
Location: Charlotte, NC
Work Setup: Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join our telecommunications team, managing end-to-end RF design and optimization for macro and small cell networks. Our ideal RF Engineer will have extensive experience with Atoll and strong expertise in C-Band implementation.
RF Engineer Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement RF solutions for both macro and small cell deployments
- Create polygons for small cell clusters and search rings for macro solutions based on capacity requirements
- Review and optimize existing site hardware configurations
- Manage system performance through Atoll, including creating new builds and modifications
- Execute regulatory compliance including E911 submissions and RF safety assessments
- Assign and configure Cell IDs and PCIs for macro/small cells
- Review 48-hour milestone status and coordinate with Construction on discrepancies
- Collaborate with project management, construction, and real estate teams
- Create and manage Fuze projects with detailed site/node information
RF Engineer Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of RF design experience
- Advanced proficiency in Atoll, including site creation and carrier configuration
- Demonstrated experience with macro modifications and small cell implementations
- Strong C-Band design expertise
- Thorough understanding of FCC compliance standards and RF safety regulations
- Bachelor's degree in RF Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Experience with RAVE and IXUS RF safety tools
- Ability to analyze third-party EME studies
RF Engineer Preferred Skills
- Experience with telecommunications tools (Fuze SPM, Conquest, Planning/Canvas)
- Proficiency in IXUS RF Safety Software or EME reporting tools
- MapInfo or ArcGIS mapping expertise
- Deep understanding of 5G C-Band spectrum
- Experience with Phase 2 E911 setup and CART tool usage
