Skyworks Irvine Design Center is seeking a motivated Winter/Spring Co-Op eager to join a winning team in the competitive mobile communications market.

Personally contribute to the realization of RF Front-End integrated circuits used in mobile phones from initial concept to final production. Join us to experience all aspects of highly integrated semiconductor, module, and embedded RF circuit design, our in-house prototype Assembly Lab capable of building fully packaged samples, and our world-class RF characterization laboratory.
Responsibilities
Working with experienced engineers to design/develop RFIC for Multi-chip modules
Designing RF switches, low noise amplifiers, couplers, etc.
Running simulations using design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, SPICE, etc.
Tuning RF front-end modules in the lab
Troubleshooting and resolving design or technical issues
Collaborating with other engineers and technicians
Impedance matching using Smith chart
Evaluating RF parameters like IP3, P1dB, NF, return loss, etc
Validating performance across supply, temperature and frequency
Creating compliance matrices against spec, plotting results and presenting results summary
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
- Commitment to work onsite for 6 months
- Strong desire to learn, grow and make impact
- Strong career interest in RF/microwave engineering and RFIC design
- Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
- Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook
- Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, SPICE is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience in lab using network analyzer and other RF instruments is highly preferred

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
