An Intern is a temporarily employed college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning, who is offered a work-study program designed to give college students practical work experience in their field of study. This program often helps students determine career interests. Beyond the scope of the actual tasks performed, the student becomes familiar with a corporate environment and gains practical skills and knowledge to supplement their classroom experience.
Qualifications:- Enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree in Engineering, Distributed Generation, Electric Vehicles, or Load Flows from an accredited college or university program.
- GPA requirement: 3.00 or higher
- Be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student
- Eligible to work in the United States in accordance with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations.
- Able to provide an official student transcript and other required information.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Travel within the service territory may be required.
- Possess a valid driver's license from state of residence

Responsibilities:Gain experience and exposure to practical applications within the utility industry. Individual normally works under close supervision; performs a variety of projects that have specific instructions and expected results.
As an intern, you will be assigned to a Supervisor and/or a Coach/Mentor.
You will be assigned day-to-day tasks as well as a project that will last the duration of your assignment. The project may be a team effort or individual.
At the end of your internship, you will present to a team of company employees the results of your project and overall summary of your experience.
This position is a safety-sensitive role. Upon acceptance of a conditional offer, all individuals in safety-sensitive roles are obligated report the use of any medication that may impair their ability to perform the job in a safe manner.
Intern will be immersed in increasing levels of responsibility in regards to interconnecting large load customers to our Electric Power System(EPS). Intern will determine under supervision, upgrades required to serve load customers needs including load flow analysis using computer applications and fault studies. Intern will be involved/utilized in studying large Distributed Energy Resources(DER’s) connecting to our EPS system. The “System Impact Study” cover ways to mitigate thermal overloads, upgrades and protections to integrate these DER’s(Solar, Wind, Hydro Generators and Battery Storage) onto our Power Grid. Intern will be involved with long term planning of how to integrate future Electric Vehicle and Electric Heat sources into our grid over a 10 Year plan moving forward to meet The Act on Climate Change law.
