Job Title: Risk and Controls Analyst
Location: Irving, TX (3 days onsite - Hybrid)
Duration:12 months
Pay range - $45-50/hr on W2
Risk and Control Analyst There will be a focus on a system migration, but more from a Risk and Control angle.
The Operational Risk Officer is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the operational readiness and migration to the LoanIQ platform at SMBL Citi. This role will focus on a geographic section of the roll out (including the operational readiness of the scope of project plan, testing, development, deployment of upstream and downstream feeds to partner systems, and operational readiness). There will be a focus on Balance Sheet integrity and reporting.
The role is part of the Risk and Control 1st line of defense organization, and will act as a liaison, a point of check and challenge, gap assess, and assist in evaluating issues with potential impacts for next steps with a Risk and Control lens. The role will require an individual to understand the loan product, operations, technology, and product control implications. Good analytical and strong communication skills will be required. The work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the Loan Operations team.
Responsibilities:
• Contributes to risk assessments and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
• Provides governance and oversight may include (not limited to) processing risk, operational readiness, or technology risk for example.
• Evaluates the control environment by ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
• Ensures project completion, special assignments, and other ad hoc activities as required.
• Ensures the Operations Team is in compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures.
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Advises on standards, procedures and concepts around which others will operate.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience navigating and networking across an enterprise utilizing internal and external resources.
• Demonstrated strong business knowledge including the understanding of core loan operations operational risks, supporting processes and operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of operational risk and gap identification.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Business writing experience preferred.
• System to system migration experience preferred.
• Accounting/controllership experience is a plus.
• Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications including Power Point.
Pay Range: $45 - $50
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
