About the Job
As a Data Strategy Associate on the Wholesale Credit Analytics and Transformation team, you will work across multiple businesses, risk, and technology teams to run data acquisition, data governance and data quality operating model to meet the increasingly sophisticated data needs of the larger wholesale credit organization. The Wholesale Credit Portfolio Analytics is a centralized team focused on reshaping the end-to-end Credit Risk experience across JPMC's Wholesale lines of businesses. We aim to improve both effectiveness and efficiency in managing wholesale credit risk across Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking by leveraging data and technology. We operate in a fast-paced environment to lead strategic efforts transforming Wholesale Credit's most critical needs, requiring collaboration with business, risk and technology partners. Our team consists of data scientists who are developing value added risk analytics solutions through the deployment of advanced analytical frameworks and Machine Learning algorithms on top of the firm's big data assets.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with Data Scientists to understand their data needs for analytic solution/model development (using internal and external data)
- Actively participate in requirements gathering sessions, conduct supporting analysis, create execution plans, coordinate across lines of businesses within JPMC and with external vendors to source various data sets. Own the data delivery plan working with Technology partners
- Represent Wholesale Credit Analytics data requirements and use cases to stakeholders in Legal, Compliance, Data Use forums and other Corporate functions based on data procurements needs
- Work on actionable insights by analyzing structured/unstructured data from data sources. Gather, synthesize and present project findings and data to a broad cross section of stakeholders including data scientists, credit officers, technology partners
- Protect the team's data assets by actively contributing improvements to the Data Quality framework and ensuring any data defects are identified and resolved promptly
- Actively participate in proof of concepts with externals data aggregators and product vendors for Credit Risk transformation and modernization use cases
- Establish and cultivate relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including technology, credit, product and data teams, to develop contacts on relevant subject matter
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or Data or Quantitative discipline (Statistics/ Mathematics)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data management, big data, data warehousing, ETL infrastructure for data acquisition within financial services
- Ability to run SQL queries
- Basic AWS Clouds skills (EMR, S3, Athena, etc.)
- Experience working on data acquisition and transformation in a data warehousing or big data project
- Self-starter with the ability to solve problems creatively and deliver results while working in a dynamic, collaborative, and challenging environment
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask to meet deadlines under pressure
- Outstanding interpersonal skills needed for working in a team environment and with cross-functional teams in multiple, global locations
