# Summary of Position
The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the organizations comprehensive risk management program. The primary goals of this role include leveraging the organizations strengths, identifying and assessing risks that could impact its reputation, safety, security, and financial success, and developing proactive strategies to mitigate those risks. Additionally, the Risk Manager plays a crucial role in responding to and addressing concerns as they arise. This is an exempt position.

# Core Responsibilities
- Creates an asset-based approach to Risk Management that works through trusting relationships
- Assist employees in fulfilling the Mission of St. Josephs Indian School by promoting and modeling a culture of safety, value, empowerment, and compassion.
# Responsibilities
1. Creates and maintains the organizations Risk Management Policy and Plan to be used as a proactive framework for assessing, planning, auditing and evaluating risks.
2. Collaborate with the Safety and Security Officer to lead the organization Safety Committee to assist in risk reduction and education across campus while actively modeling and encouraging continuous improvement in safety practices.
3. Works collaboratively with relevant teams and leaders to develop, teach and maintain safety and risk-related staff training programs such as Crisis Table Top Drills, Safety Committee trainings, Root Cause Analysis, Risk Management Plans, and Safety Skills.
4. Performs work area audits collaboratively with various teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies, which may include recommendations for policy or procedural changes.
5. Performs collaborative work area audits with various teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies, and assists in reviewing and recommending changes to policies and procedures related to risk management solutions.
6. Leads and supports area supervisors through Root Cause Analysis investigation and post reporting to ensure a comprehensive assessment to mitigate future events.
7. Conducts periodic risk assessments to identify strengths and gaps within the organizations Risk Management Policy and Plans.
8. Collects, analyzes, reports, and provides recommendations on risk management and safety data to management.
9. Assists with policies and procedures review related to risk management solutions.
10. Monitors risk related statistics, reports, and current topics for upcoming needs of the organization.
11. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars as directed by the President.
12. Contributes to the organizations success by completing other responsibilities as required by the President.
# Qualifications
- BS/BA with related certification preferred
- Experience in Risk management, compliance and/or performance improvement.
- Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-starter who demonstrates initiative

- Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods
- Occasional lifting required of approximately 25 lbs.
