TalentFish is casting a line for a Risk Management Specialist. This is a 6-month role in Chicago, IL.
This new, exciting position will aid in streamlining and automating the privileged access process, enhance IT risk management practices, and ensure compliance within the Risk Management team of our prestigious client. You will be responsible for contributing to data classification, managing access controls, participating in risk assessments, and providing governance support during key IT and security review processes. This role provides the opportunity to work in a high-impact environment, directly contributing to the security and governance of sensitive information within our client's organization. You will help streamline access processes and ensure that the firm remains compliant with internal policies and legal standards.

What You Bring to the Role
Ideal Experience:
- 5-7+ years of experience in risk management or data governance.
- Experience managing privileged access processes and working with sensitive data, particularly in a law firm environment (preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of cloud environments, including security controls, access management, and virtual machine (VM) configuration.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Relativity, and ServiceNow for process management and workflow integration.
- Proven experience working with IT governance frameworks, including Demand Review Board (DRB) and Architectural Review Board (ARB) processes.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and working with technical and security teams on risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to participate in high-level review boards and meetings.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and contribute to team efforts focused on data retention policies and compliance.
Skills Used in this Position:
- Manage the privileged access request process, ensuring access is aligned with security standards and business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and implement automated solutions for access control.
- Serve as a key representative for the leader of Risk Management and act as a liaison in various meetings, including Demand Review Board (DRB) and Architectural Review Board (ARB).
- Contribute to IT governance efforts by reviewing new initiatives, ensuring budgets and charters are in place, and voting on project progression.
- Assist in conducting risk assessments for new technologies, ensuring compliance with security and data retention policies.
- Play a role in data classification, helping to determine security controls and access levels for different types of data.
- Participate in the development and enforcement of data retention policies, ensuring compliance with legal and security standards.
- Engage in the review of cloud-related IT infrastructure, assisting in the design and control of cloud access and resource management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure findings from risk assessments are addressed, particularly before production readiness (PR) and implementation phases.
- Ensure continuous tracking and updating of processes, reducing manual inefficiencies and maintaining compliance with security standards.
