About DTMB:
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (https://youtu.be/H_IrVnVjcoA) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About this position:
This position manages and conducts the operations of the State of Michigan’s Enterprise Risk Management Program, which provides Risk Management services for all of state government. This $4 million per year program includes coverages for, but is not limited to, $1.3 billion dollars in property coverage, over 7.3 million square foot of space for general liability coverage, 43 aircraft for aviation coverage, 3 airports for liability coverage, 240 locations for boiler and machinery coverage, and over 50,000 employees for employee crime coverage.This position is responsible for: securing insurance renewals; recommending changes to risk management Administrative Guide procedures; maintaining, monitoring, and adjudicating insurance policies and claims; providing contract oversight and administration to the state’s third party administrator, insurance broker, state agencies, and the public for the state’s vehicle fleet self-insurance program and the non-employee benefit insurance program; attending settlement hearings and facilitations on behalf of the state with authority to settle up to $1,000,000 without pre-approval and work with Financial Services to recommend service rates and administrative fees.

Position Location: This position is located in Lansing, MI. This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week. Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Equivalent combinations of nonprofessional experience, identified by the appointing authority and approved by Civil Service that are represented by subclass codes, will be accepted for classified, professional experience equivalent to the P11-level and above. Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
