Position Summary:

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who implements an exercise/education program mutually agreed upon by the client, physician and nurse to promote the optimal cardiac health of the client. He/she, together with the Medical Director develops, implements, and evaluates the program goals and objectives to promote positive client outcomes. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for orientation of additional staff [RN’s] to assist with the daily operations of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

• Current California RN License
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 30 CEU’s mandatory for RN renewals should include some CEU’s related to Cardiac Rehabilitation for on-going education
• Completion of a basic dysrhythmia course
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Participates in/member of a hospital committee
• Experience in cardiac rehabilitation nursing
• Membership in CR association
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
