RN Clinical Manager - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Palm Springs, CA

Shift: Full-Time Nights

Sign-On Bonus: $20,000

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading medical center in sunny Palm Springs, CA, to recruit an experienced and dynamic RN Clinical Manager for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient operations, exceptional patient care, and a positive working environment for the PCU nursing team.

Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the PCU during your assigned shift, ensuring smooth workflow, adequate staffing levels, and efficient resource utilization.
• Patient Care Management: Oversee delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support a team of PCU nurses, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
• Problem Resolution: Promptly investigate and resolve patient, visitor, staff, and physician complaints, escalating issues to higher management as needed.
• Crisis Management: Demonstrate the ability to respond effectively and provide direction during changing workloads, crises, and emergencies.
• Communication: Facilitate open and transparent communication with staff, helping them understand administrative decisions and fostering a sense of shared purpose.
• Patient Health Information: Maintain confidentiality and access to patient health information solely for treatment.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Active California RN License (maintained current at all times)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills
  • Professional demeanor and communication
  • American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification (maintained current at all times)
  • EKG test completion within 30 days of hire
  • NIHSS certification
• Preferred:
  • Previous management experience
