Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading Level II Trauma Center in San Jose, CA, to identify a dynamic and experienced Director of Surgical Services. About the Role:

The Director of Surgical Services will oversee the daily operations of the surgical department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care. This includes managing staff, resources, and budgets, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record of success in surgical services management.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to the surgical services team.
• Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Oversee staff development and training.
• Implement process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.  
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role in surgical services preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
• Current California Registered Nurse license required.
• Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
• Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred.

Schedule:

• Full-time, days
• No weekends
