Location: Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, MA
Contract Length: 16 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 19:00 - 07:30
Pay Package: $37/hr on W2 + $1200(Weekly No Taxable stipend)
Weekly Gross: $2532
Job Description:
Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Emergency Room (ER) department. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients in critical conditions. This position requires a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, effective decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress, and report changes to the physician.
- Respond to emergency situations with a high level of efficiency and competence.
- Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Room setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- TNCC certification is highly preferred.
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is a plus.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Additional Information:
- This is a 16-week contract position with a night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30.
- Candidates must be flexible and willing to float to other units as needed.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required as per facility guidelines.
