Responsible for the collection and accurate submission of data to the appropriate registry for the BCBSM collaboratives that LHMC participates in, also to identify opportunities for quality improvement as it pertains to these collaboratives. Implement the identified improvements strategies, and monitor the improvements via data utilizing plan do check act. Works in collaboration with the Surgeon champions of the collaboratives and with members of the healthcare team to implement improvements. Will take on other duties as assigned, including being know legible of regulatory requirements, helping with validating trauma registry data, concurrent abstraction of patient charts, monitoring of quality data, and entering quality data into the performance improvement dashboard, graphing data, and taking the necessary action to improve quality indicators. Provides oversite to the LPN Collaborative Registrar and Quality Specialist. Coordinates new hire physicals with Human Resources. Conducts and documents new employee physical exams. Addresses all the necessary vaccinations including fit testing. Orders appropriate test for new employee. Consults with appropriate provider on abnormal results. Communicates with Human Resources regarding eligibility of hire. Maintains employee files including employee injury forms. Employee injuries are logged and report to appropriate internal committees and external agencies.

Position is 19 hours per week or less based on department need. 

Education and Work Experience

1. Registed Nurse in the State of MI required. BSN preferred.
2. Minimum of one year experience in hospital, experience preferred in surgery (OR, PACU, Same Day Surgery) or caring for surgical patients in critical care setting (ICU, SICU, CCU, etc.).
3. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience preferred.
4. Knowledge of regulatory requirement preferred and quality improvement strategies.
5. Willing to work collaboratively with the health care team to improve care
