Jackson Purchase Medical Center is a 107 all private bed, Joint Commission-accredited facility. Minimum Education
Associate's degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - all must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Handle With Care (HWC) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Licenses:
RN Licensed to Practice in the State of Kentucky
*New Graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment. If an RN license is not earned within 6 months of employment, the provisional licensee must immediately cease practicing in a licensed nursing position.
Position Summary:
· Identifies patient acuity based upon need and condition
· Assesses patient and reviews patient's medical record to formulate and individualized nursing plan of care
· Provides nursing care to patients with restrictive, obstructive, and vascular pulmonary diseases
· Provides nursing care for patients receiving cardiac pacing therapy
· Performs remote continuous observation of multiple telemetry monitors for an assigned group of patients
· Provides nursing care for patients with inserted/implanted central venous access devices (CVADs)
· Provides nursing care for patients with chest drainage systems
· Provides nursing care for emergently hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic patients
· Ability to assist with/or place endotracheal tube
· Provides nursing care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation
· Provides nursing care for patients with acute and/or chronic wounds
· Provides nursing care for dying and deceased patients
· Facilitates the department's compliance with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) for patients presenting with emergent medical conditions or in active labor
