About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) **Job Duration:** 17 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of ER experience in an Acute Care setting; Meditech 6.15 experience required; highly preferred travel experience or 5+ years in a Level 1 Trauma Facility **License:** Yes, willing to wait **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS, ASLS or NIHSS; TNCC preferred; CPI **Must-Have:** Meditech 6.15 experience **Job Description:** - Nurses are required to have prior experience in fast-paced, high-acuity emergency room settings. - Applicants should be prepared for handling approximately 140 patient visits per day, with diverse cases ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics and occasional trauma. - ER facilities include 25 monitored beds, 6 fast treatment beds, 6 fast treatment chairs, 2 trauma bays, a recess bay, and a dedicated stroke room. - Certifiable training in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Stroke Care required. - Every 3rd or 4th weekend work required, along with working every other holiday. - Must be proficient with MEDITECH 6.1 charting system. - Experience with ESI Triage and Alaris pumps is advantageous. - Dedicated assessment is conducted through clinical interviews or auto-offers based on profile/skills review. - Nurses must be capable of drawing labs and starting their own IVs. - ER is supported by onsite RT 24/7, pharmacy services available onsite 11 hours/day and campus-wide 24/7. - Nursing staff provides their services while wearing Caribbean Blue scrubs. - Emergency department is supplied with security/patient sitters, 2-3 nurse aides/paramedics per shift, and integrated telemetry/monitor tech. - Successful candidates will undergo a cardiac rhythms test (minimum 80% passing score) and an ESI Triage Exam. - Floor-specific orientation includes 1-2 shifts, depending on comfort level. - A 75-mile radius rule applies for consideration—applicants' driver's license must reflect an address meeting this requirement. Note: The COVID-19 immunization is not mandatory, but unvaccinated individuals must be willing to undergo weekly testing.
