About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) Nurse **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year **License:** Required to submit **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required, PALS **Must-Have:** Strong teamwork and flexibility **Job Description:** - Work in an ER with 7 beds, including 1 trauma room, and tele/ED availability. - Handle varying patient volumes, approximately 4,000 patients annually. - Manage patient care with potentially a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio. Assistance available from the med-surg charge nurse as needed. - Use T-system and Evident (CPSI Company) charting systems. - No support from a charge nurse; ER tech available during the day, not at night. - Collaborate with responsive security and police department support. No sitters available. - Wear any color scrubs that are appropriate and professional. - Must comprehend and interpret EKGs independently. - Manage ventilators: Newport HT70 model. - Work alongside an ER MD 24/7; hospitalist on call at night if needed. - Perform lab draws if lab is unavailable. - Adept IV skills are preferred due to lack of an IV team; daytime provider available for PICC placements. - Administer respiratory treatments in the absence of RT. - Coordinate with a pharmacist available until 3 PM, with telepharmacy support on call. - Be prepared to mix medications if necessary, especially for new orders after hours. - Possible floating within the facility if required. - One shift with a preceptor for orientation. - Handle a wide range of diagnoses typical to an emergency department. - Weekend shifts are required every third weekend or more often if necessary. - Rotate holidays with permanent staff. - Participate in a blocked schedule to ensure consistent coverage. - Contribute to a friendly and team-oriented facility environment, demonstrating strong teamwork skills and flexibility in scheduling. - Be available for follow-up interviews as requested due to scheduling requirements.
