About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour days, including 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** RN License **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, PALS (Preferred: TNCC and ATCN) **Must-Have:** - 1 year of Trauma Level 1 experience - Experience with Cerner EMR system - Pass DYS exam prior to offer acceptance - Not a first-time traveler - Competency in sterile field maintenance, Foley catheter insertion, and SIMs Lab for central line dressing changes or port-a-cath insertion (specific to assignment) **Job Description:** - Float between designated facilities, about 30 minutes apart; may float mid-shift. - Participate in day 1 pass/fail exam and SIMs Lab training for Foley catheter and central line/port-a-cath skills. - Engage in education on lifts, restraints, and wound care. - Work in a unit with Acute - 36 beds, Subacute - 54 beds, and 6 trauma bays. - Maintain 1:4 patient ratio within the unit. - Utilize Philips tele monitors for patient care. - Manage ventilators with the support of respiratory therapists. - Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists, with at least two MDs always in-house. - Work with 24/7 available RT and pharmacy services, with a pharmacist specifically in the ER for 10 hours/day. - Participate in unit-based orientation for 2-3 shifts. - Care for common diagnoses such as trauma, burns, and pediatric cases. - Coordinate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and US-trained IV teams as necessary. - Wear navy scrubs, as per the unit's dress code.
