About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department **Job Specialty:** Emergency Department/ER **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 19:00-07:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 or 48 hours per week **Experience:** 1 year in Level 1 Trauma or 2 years in Level 2 Trauma facility **License:** Current RN License eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA only; TNCC preferred **Must-Have:** - Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma facility - Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications - Clinical expertise in emergency nursing **Job Description:** - Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care. - Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care. - Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. - Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. - Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. - Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. - Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. - Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. - Maintain a determined, decisive, and flexible personality fit for a busy urban trauma center. - Adhere to dress code: professional attire, no jeans; scrub color: black. **Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements:** - Stand and walk most of the time on duty. - Lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. - Work mainly in a clean, air-conditioned area. - Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., and occasionally kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
