About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 12-hour shifts **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience required; Experience in a Critical Access facility required; Travel experience preferred **License:** Valid nursing license required **Certifications:** ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, BLS (AHA) **Must-Have:** CERNER EMR experience required; BSN (or higher) preferred; Own vehicle for commuting **Job Description:** - Serve as a clinical resource nurse, with responsibilities extending beyond those of a typical registered nurse. - Promote and maintain quality patient care, manage nursing operations, aid in teaching nursing staff, and enforce facility procedures, policies, practices, and standards. - Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and managerial skills. - Provide care for all ages in the Emergency Department, working alongside Physician Assistants. - Quickly prioritize tasks and adapt to rapidly changing situations. - Obtain comprehensive health histories and conduct accurate physical assessments to inform treatment plans. - Exhibit critical thinking and sharp decision-making abilities. - Communicate effectively and handle unplanned situations, including managing combative behaviors from patients or families. - Attributes for success include compassion, humor, strong organizational skills, and teamwork. - Work two major holiday periods if required (Thanksgiving and the following weekend, Christmas Eve/Day and the following weekend, New Year's Eve/Day and the following weekend). - Willing to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. - Provide a skills checklist specific to the position, a supervisory signed reference from within the past two years, and ensure all certifications are current. **Note:** Requested time off during the assignment must be noted and verified prior to submission. No more than 5 days off will be accepted, and requests after submission will not be approved. Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this position. Non-billable orientation includes 8 hours. Holiday and overtime multipliers apply.
