About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Intensive/Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU) **Job Duration:** 14 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour night shifts **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** One year preferred; specific skills and knowledge in critical care essential **License:** State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC **Certifications:** - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) **Must-Have:** - Proficiency in English (read, write, speak) **Job Description:** - Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through comprehensive observation and interaction. - Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. - Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. - Promote and advocate for the health, safety, and rights of all patients. - Provide patient and family education through assessment of learning readiness and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching. - Deliver relationship-based care, recognizing patients as full partners in providing compassionate and coordinated care. - Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in compliance with state nursing regulations and hospital policies. - Utilize time and resources efficiently to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care. - Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing practices. - Manage resources and patient flow, matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs. - Engage in open communication and shared decision-making within nursing and inter-professional teams to achieve quality care. - Mentor and precept new staff or nursing students, as needed, and pursue ongoing education to maintain clinical competence. - Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities. - Use current healthcare research to expand knowledge and enhance practice. **Floating Requirements:** - May be required to float to any location within a sixty-mile radius or a designated float zone. - Floating assignments may include tasks outside the original job requirements. **Education:** - Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred.
