About The Position
**Job Title:** Surgical ICU Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** FS **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year **License:** Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) **Certifications:** - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association - ACLS (American Heart Association) **Must-Have:** CRRT experience **Job Description:** Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. This role is not for procedural or OR nurses. - Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. - Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. - Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations and intervene when necessary. - Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver patient care competently. - Interact with family and patient by sharing the care plan during hospitalization and discharge. - Inform patients and families about hospital procedures. - Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegate tasks to support staff. - Perform other duties as assigned. **Preferred Education:** Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing **Languages:** English (Speak, Read, Write) **Skills:** - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Some computer skills.
