About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Medical Imaging Admin **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Day Monday-Friday, 9 Hour Shift (with lunch) **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week **Experience:** At least 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse **License:** Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in the State of Illinois **Certifications:** - BLS (American Heart Association) - ACLS (American Heart Association) - PALS (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire **Must-Have:** - Basic reading, writing, oral English skills - Critical thinking skills using independent judgement in making decisions - Ability to maintain confidential information - Professional, friendly, helpful demeanor **Job Description:** - Contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. - Perform procedures to ensure accurate and complete examinations within medical imaging guidelines. - Practice nursing within licensure scope and perform thorough patient assessments. - Assume responsibility for interventional case flow in the Medical Imaging Department. - Administer medications and conscious sedation effectively, monitor patient condition, and initiate interventions as needed. - Follow patient safety goals and maintain quality throughout procedures. - Demonstrate competency in caring for critically ill patients and function independently in emergencies. - Set up and use monitoring equipment during procedures. - Perform venipuncture and insertion of peripheral catheters. - Execute adult and pediatric catheterization as necessary. - Conduct various nursing tasks in different areas within the Medical Imaging Department. - Perform daily inspections and maintain logs as needed. - Serve as circulating tech and scrub assistant during procedures. - Educate patients and families on procedures, adhere to safety policies, and use education resources. - Adapt teaching strategies to patients’ needs and ensure understanding. - Coordinate daily flow and RN resources across different imaging modalities.
