About The Position
**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Labor & Delivery **Job Duration:** 8 Weeks **Shift:** Night - 3x12 - 7 PM - 7 AM **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 Hours per Week **Experience:** Minimum of three years (3) acute care experience required. **License:** Registered Nurse License **Certifications:** AHA BLS, ACLS **Must-Have:** - Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing - Associate Degree or BSN accepted - Proficient communication skills (written, verbal, electronic) - Willingness to float to sister facilities and other departments as needed **Job Description:** - Deliver safe, effective, quality nursing care according to the philosophy and goals of the Department of Nursing. - Utilize Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring and the professional nursing practice model to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. - Determine patient progress toward goals and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. - Provide care based on the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. - Demonstrate current working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications. - Formulate care plans ensuring safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention for the patient. - Perform essential nursing skills, educate patients and families on health care needs, and evaluate care plan effectiveness. - Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise nursing care provided by the care team. - Act as a patient advocate, initiating action to improve health care as needed. - Coordinate patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary care team members. - Ensure culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards. - Meet or exceed unit and organizational patient satisfaction goals through interactions with patients and families. - Assist in resolving complaints promptly and investigate complaints to provide information to management. - Perform other duties as assigned.
