We are searching for a talented Occupational Therapist
*UP TO $7,200 NEW HIRE SIGN-ON BONUS*
Hours: 24hrs
Shift: Flexible shifts & hours with weekend and holiday rotation
Location: Family Center - St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA
*SIGN-ON DETAILS
• $7,200 with a minimum 3+ years of nursing experience.
• $6,000 with 1+ years of nursing experience.
• $4,500 with less than 1 year of nursing experience (new grads are eligible!)
• Must be a new hire OR a rehire termed greater than 1 year to be eligible

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
Responsibilities:Under direction of Director, Woman and Children�s Health or designee, provide professional consultation and collaboration to various multidisciplinary teams to assure quality lactation care and optimal outcomes. Participate in staff educational development activities along with providing evidence based expertise to hospital and departmental councils and committees. Promote and support global and national feeding initiatives, objectives and recommendations.Qualifications:
- Graduation from a NLN accredited School of Nursing is required.
- Current Massachusetts R.N. licensure is also required.
- Current IBCLC Board Certification or CLC is also required.
- Duties require excellent communication, conflict, resolution and leadership skills.
- Previous 5 years experience of maternal/child health nursing, with minimum 3 yrs of lactation consulting preferred.
- Possess the professional knowledge of the breastfeeding process, ante partum, intrapartum, and post partum healthcare and psychosocial issues.
- Knowledge of premature infants and breastfeeding practices specific to this population.
- Knowledge of breast feeding care and education principles, practice, procedure, and techniques required to assess learning needs, and develop an educational plan and teach/ counsel staff, patient/families and evaluate effectiveness of the instruction.
- A minimum of two years experience in providing group instructions in a leadership role is not required but preferred.
