About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Evening/Night (3 PM - 11 PM / 11 PM - 7 AM) **Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience in Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility, with preference for 2 years. First-time travelers are welcome, though experienced travelers are preferred. **License:** Yes, a valid nursing license is required for submission. **Certifications:** BLS Certification Required **Must-Have:** Prior experience in Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility **Job Description:** - The department includes 100 resident beds, with 96 semi-private beds and 4 private beds across two floors dedicated to Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing. - The facility is equipped with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system utilizing Point Click Care alongside paper charting. - Patient ratios are typically 1:17-20. In the House Supervisor role, you will oversee the entire facility. - Common diagnoses include diabetes, COPD, post-stroke, heart disease, fractures, dementia, Alzheimer’s, rehabilitation needs, and chronic conditions with multiple comorbidities. - Responsibilities include medication administration, vital signs monitoring, blood sugar checks and management, wound care, ostomy and foley management, tube feeding administration, and collaborating with other healthcare team members. - Occasional IV antibiotic administration and potential PICC line management are required. - Participate in Daily Huddle meetings. - Work with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, social workers, and dieticians. - No respiratory therapists on-site; RNs and LPNs are expected to manage respiratory treatments and equipment such as CPAP and nasal cannulas; no tracheostomy or ventilator management is needed. - On-site medication dispensing using bubble packs and in-house stock of generic medications. - Scheduling is typically 6 weeks in advance. Flexibility is required to fill gaps in staffing. - Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holiday work may be required as well. - No on-call or standby requirements; covered by permanent staff. - Floating between floors may be required as per staffing needs. - Dress code requires professional attire: scrubs in any color, with minimum jewelry, no fake nails, hair professionally styled, and no face tattoos. - Orientation includes 3 shifts with a preceptor. - There is a radius rule of 50 miles; ensure compliance prior to submission.
