About The Position
Registered Nurse/Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Hot Springs, SD
Duration: Fulltime

Description:
Client is looking for a Charge Nurse RN for its Long-Term care team.
In this role you will provide general nursing care to residents. The RN contributes to overall resident care which is guided by the resident care plan, facility policies and procedures, and professional standards of practice and directly supervises the Nursing Assistants.
Responsibilities:
Make nursing assessments regarding the health status of the residents; making nursing diagnosis which serves as the basis or the strategy of care.
Develop a plan of care based on assessment and nursing diagnosis; implement nursing care; and evaluate responses to nursing interventions.
Make provisions for outside physician visits to ensure residents' medical needs are met.
Demonstrates effective communication with physician and family members to ensure resident needs are met.
Performs teaching to residents, families and staff to ensure understanding of the residents' plan of care.
Understands, promotes and implements the choices philosophy and resident rights.
Prepares, administers and charts routine and emergency medication and treatment as ordered.
Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their side effects.
Ensure clinical record reflects accurate and timely documentation to ensure continuity and quality of resident care.
Perform safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, participates in Quality Management program to ensure appropriate standards of care are met within the facility.
Functions as the primary contact person on assigned shift. Effectively supervises resident assistants to ensure compliance with plan of care.
Demonstrates knowledge, skills and ability in IV therapy to include initiating IV's, administration of initial medication, management of central line and catheters.
