Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical unit. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical-surgical setting and demonstrate excellent clinical skills, critical thinking, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, post-operative care, medication management, and lifestyle changes necessary for recovery.
- Safety: Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to hospital policies and protocols, including infection control and patient safety standards.
- Teamwork: Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and other collaborative efforts to optimize patient outcomes.
- Quality Improvement: Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in a medical-surgical unit or similar setting preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (CMSRN) preferred.
