About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Medical Surgical Float **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Day/Evening, 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30), Monday - Friday and every other weekend **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hrs/week **Experience:** Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years in different Med/Surg units (cardiac, spine, neuro). Floating experience preferred. **License:** Must have state nursing license or compact license from permanent address state. **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through American Heart Association only. Basic Arrhythmia experience required. **Must-Have:** Passing score on Telemetry test prior to clearance for start. **Job Description:** - Float across multiple departments and specialties, providing care for complex and dynamic patient populations in various medical, surgical general care, and intermediate care units. - Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care using critical thinking skills to evaluate and assess patients, recognize and escalate complications, and administer appropriate nursing interventions. - Demonstrate commitment to patient and family-centered nursing care. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, nursing assistants, coordinated care roles, therapists, advanced practice providers, and medical teams. - Serve as a mentor and role model with opportunities to be a preceptor for new nurses and students. - Engage in strategic planning efforts, quality improvement, and Shared Governance. - Adapt to floating between multiple units based on staffing needs and organizational requirements. Applicants are expected to have a strong background in medical and surgical nursing with the ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the capacity for effective task delegation.
