**Job Title:** RN Clinical Nurse - Acute Care Float **Job Specialty:** Registered / Licensed - Inpatient **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Day **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Less than 1 year; completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours required; direct patient care experience preferred **License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Single State or Multi-state Compact **Certifications:** - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Basic Life Support (BLS) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Registered Nurse License **Must-Have:** Ability to read, write, and speak English; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; customer service skills; ability to function in a fast-paced environment; strong critical thinking and time management skills; basic computer proficiency. **Job Description:** - Perform the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in clinical care using evidence-based practices. - Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that adapts to individual patient characteristics and cultural diversity. - Partner with patients, families, and significant others using effective communication methods and make the patients' goals the focus of care plans. - Coordinate safe, quality patient care and document accurately, while promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. - Demonstrate teamwork, fiscal responsibility, and support performance improvement initiatives. - Complete professional competency assessments and mandatory education requirements. - Serve as a preceptor or mentor to ensure a qualified future workforce. - Promote evidence-based practice and engage in nursing research and performance improvement activities. - Uphold healthcare system policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements. - Participate in data collection and consult appropriate resources to address clinical questions. - Plan for patient care across the care continuum and collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve best practice outcomes. - Support efficient use of resources and perform other duties as assigned. Note: The role requires day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with work every other weekend and on two major and two minor holidays.
