About The Position
ID: 50441036 Shift: 3x12 VARIABLE Description: Job Specific Notes: Director of Med-Surg RNHCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital. For 40 years, we have served Bay County and the surrounding communities. We are an accredited facility offering comprehensive care. This includes advanced cardiac assessment and treatment. We offer certified women's services. Our hospital has dedicated spaces for adult and pediatric emergency services. We are certified in Advanced Primary Stroke Care. Our hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center. We are the area's only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation. Other services that we offer include orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular, and interventional services. We are home to the only Pediatric ER in the community. We have the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the region. Together, we continue to raise the bar in healthcare.Job Summary: Provide leadership for planning, management, implementation, integration and coordination of the unit in support of facility goals dedicated to excellence, effective leadership, and financial stability. Support the delivery of the high quality, cost effective patient care through activities based on facility strategic goals and objectives. What you will do in this role: Enhance the department through performance improvement and appropriate utilization of resources. Develop an operational system that supports a seamless flow of patients through the continuum of care. Facilitate the development of a comprehensive education program for patients and staff. Collaborate with physicians to provide leadership though out the department. Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding new technology and services. Collaborates proactively with all interdisciplinary team members and with a patient/family focus to facilitate and maximize client healthcare outcomes. Coordinates multi-disciplinary patient care conferences for high risk or medically complex patients. Leads research projects under the IRB. Directs development of specific short and long-range programs and project plans to obtain the facility objectives. Responsible for the planning and coordination of activities, the operational efficiency and effectiveness as well as major impact on all other hospital areas. Effectively interviews and selects a qualified number of personnel as required to meet department objectives. Ensures hiring practices conform to appropriate Affirmative Action/EEO practices and regulations. Provides direction to the staff and supervisors. Reviews performance of the department staff and approves staff evaluations. Responsible for appropriate disciplinary action of staff members as needed. What qualifications you will need: at least 2-3 years of RECENT ACUTE CARE Supervisor/Manager level experience Open to any adult inpatient experience from an acute hospital settingBachelors Degree REQUIREDBasic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateRegistered Nurse, or Advance Nurse PractitionerAdditional Information:- Director reports to an ACNO and then to a CNO (remember there is lots of opportunity to grow and advance!)- 282 bed hospital with 2 FSEDs- Only Delivery Facility in Bay County (they have a very robust women s and childrens service line)- Advanced Primary Stroke Center, accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center, and the area s only Accredited Chest Pain Center with primary PCI and Resuscitation- They have the only Pediatric ER in the community and the only Level III NICU and PICU in the region- Oversight over a 42 bed Med/Surg unit ( bread and butter med/surg unit very standard med/surg patients)- 57 FTEs (Director, Manager, 4 CNCs or Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, and PCTs)- They are a very engaged unit- Staffing is OK they have quite a few openings for new grad RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Techs- Recently remodeled/upgraded this entire floor!
