Job Summary and QualificationsWe are seeking a highly-skilled and compassionate RN to deliver exceptional patient care in the 36 bed medical trauma unit. In this role you will provide patient-centered direct nursing care, including telemetry monitoring, to a diverse patient population. If you are looking for a fast-paced, supportive and teamwork oriented environment, apply today!What you will do in this role: As a registered nurse in the medical trauma unit you will provide therapeutic care of patients being treated for cardiac, respiratory, renal, and other conditions. You will assess acute changes in patients, monitoring and analyzing heart rhythms, interpreting ECGs, noting arrhythmias, and intervening in emergency situations. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers, cardiac specialists and patient care staff, you will administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the facility. During every shift you will monitor, record and communicate patient conditions utilizing our computerized documentation systems. As a part of the clinical team, you will coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team and participate in patient/family education. When dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers, you will maintain cultural and diversity awareness, and much more. of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).License/ Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.Experience:1 year of RECENT (Within the past 1 or 2 years ) RN experience in an acute care hospital setting Preferred *HOWEVER, would consider candidates that have 6 months of RECENT acute care RN experience. WOULD ENTERTAIN CANDIDATES THAT HAVE GREAT EXPERIENCE IN SKILLED NURSING SETTING (LTAC) Description for Job us about the unit(s):Number of Beds - 36 beds (34 private, 2 semi private)Number of Staff 55Type of Shift 1 charge, 6 RNs, 3 Techs, 1 DANight Shift - 1 charge, 6 RNs, 3 TechsPatient Ratios 5-6:1Type of equipment telemetry (bedside monitors), vein finder, bladder scanner, EKG machine, Doppler, Hoyer Lift, glucometer, pulse ox, scalesPreferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
