About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Medical Surgical - Trauma **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) **Guaranteed Hours:** Yes **Experience:** 2 years required **License:** Valid state license or compact license in home state; pending license accepted **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) **Must-Have:** - Experience with tracheotomies, wound care, dressings, wound vacs, tubes, drains - Familiarity with Epic charting system **Job Description:** - Start date approximately 3-4 weeks out per compliance tier - Patient ratios range from 1:4-5 - Weekend work required every other week - No on-call requirements, but must float within scope to meet facility needs - Must be willing to work holidays as required (2 out of 3 major holidays) - Patient diagnoses include geriatric trauma (55+), abuse/violence victims, motor vehicle accidents, falls, appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, burns, traumatic brain injuries, and more - Services on unit include acute care surgery and trauma care - Special equipment includes lifts, restraints, wound vacs, and tractions - Orientation provided with 40 hours at 50% non-billable rate - Epic experience required - Travelers must adhere to compliance deadlines and fit testing requirements - Flu vaccine mandatory unless exempted for medical or religious reasons - Tardiness or calling in must not exceed set limits; otherwise, it may result in contract termination - All travelers will float within the service line and may be assigned to affiliate hospitals nearby **Note:** Detailed requirements and specific qualifications vary per unit.
