About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse – Float Pool **Job Specialty:** Nursing Float Pool **Job Duration:** Not specified **Shift:** Night Mon-Fri 7P-7A, 13 shifts, alternating weekends and holidays every 4 weeks **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** One year of acute care nursing experience preferred **License:** Current registration as a Registered Nurse **Certifications:** - BLS certification (American Heart Association) required - ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required for all RNs (except NICU and OR) - PALS certification for RNs in PACU, Pediatrics, Emergency, Urgent Care, and Ambulatory Surgery - NRP certification for RNs in Mother-Baby, Labor & Delivery, and NICU **Must-Have:** Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school **Job Description:** - Provide direct patient care and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team - Assess patient needs, plan care, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing regimens in compliance with hospital and nursing standards - Demonstrate leadership skills and commitment to professional accountability and growth - Utilize the nursing process to meet patient needs across biophysical, psychosocial, educational, safety/environmental, and discharge planning aspects - Make informed decisions and address unit-based issues with appropriate actions - Adhere to infection control standards and integrate patient rights and nursing ethics into practice - Delegate activities to ancillary staff as per the State Nurse Practice Act - Support and promote the Professional Nursing Practice Model and Magnet model - Participate in performance improvement initiatives and attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings - Utilize cost containment practices and assume Charge Nurse responsibilities when needed - Perform other related duties as assigned **Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment:** - Ability to move freely 85% of the time and remain stationary for prolonged periods - Able to move/transport objects up to 50 pounds and assist patients of all weights with appropriate support - Adaptable to high-stress, fast-paced environments with continuous interruptions - Capable of detecting sounds and responding to emergency signals at all times - Operate computer and equipment efficiently, concentrate on fine details, and manage multiple tasks **Primary Population Served:** - Neonatal, Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric, Bariatric, and patients with various needs such as exceptional communication, developmental delays, isolation precautions, cultural needs, and weight-related comorbidities This job description outlines key responsibilities and may change according to the needs of the healthcare facility.
