About The Position
**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) **Job Duration:** 8-week engagement **Shift:** Nights, 19:00-07:30 **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience required **License:** Registered Nurse (RN) License **Certifications:** AHA BLS, NRP **Must-Have:** Completion of annual organizational requirements for employment **Job Description:** - Deliver safe, effective, quality nursing care in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Nursing. - Utilize Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, Relationship-Based Care, and the professional nursing practice model to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. - Collaborate with patients and provide care according to their specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs. - Conduct ongoing assessment of patient conditions and formulate a nursing diagnosis. - Develop and implement care plans ensuring safety, comfort, hygiene, and protection. - Educate patients and families about health needs and care procedures. - Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and modify them as necessary. - Demonstrate current working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications. - Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise nursing care provided by the team. - Advocate for patients by initiating actions to improve healthcare or change decisions contrary to their interests. - Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care within legal standards. - Coordinate patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary care team members. - Maintain proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills. - Utilize manual and automated information systems to enhance efficiency and productivity. - Contribute to positive patient care experience and resolve complaints promptly. - Investigate complaints from physicians, employees, and patients to provide information to the Clinical Manager. - Perform other duties as assigned. Candidates must be willing and able to float to sister facilities and other departments as requested and qualified.
