Location: Hartsville, SC

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner Medical Center's Operating Room (OR) team in Hartsville, SC. This role offers a competitive compensation package with a $10,000 sign-on bonus, along with opportunities to contribute to a professional team providing essential care to surgical patients.

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Director of Surgery, the Surgical Services RN is responsible for planning, delegating, and coordinating nursing care for assigned patients. You will ensure that patient care meets the highest standards while collaborating with the healthcare team and maintaining a safe surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Plan, provide, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process and principles of primary nursing.
• Supervision: Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, ORTs/CSTs, and Nursing Assistants, reviewing their work for accuracy.
• Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as ordered, overseeing the administration of medications within the sterile field.
• Documentation: Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping, including charge mechanisms and information transfer.
• Surgical Preparedness: Maintain the department's readiness for patient care, checking emergency supplies and equipment daily.
• Safety and Infection Control: Adhere to and enforce safety and infection control protocols to create a safe environment.
• Emergency Response: Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Surgical Support: Function in the scrub and/or circulating role during surgery, assisting the physician as needed.
• Inventory Management: Restock rooms and report low supplies.
• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks assigned by the Director of Surgery.

Qualifications:

• Valid SC Nursing License
• Prior OR experience required
• BLS Certification
• ACLS, PALS, and other certifications preferred
