About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Operating Room (OR) RN **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 8-hour days, 5 shifts per week **Guaranteed Hours:** 37.5 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year **License:** Required to submit **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS; CNOR preferred **Must-Have:** General and Orthopedic experience; preference for GYN and Eye experience; scrub experience preferred; open to first-time travelers **Job Description:** - Work in a department with 8 suites, handling an average of 25-35 cases per day. - Manage and assist with common cases including General, Orthopedic, Neurological (shunts, aneurysms, craniotomies), Spine (laminectomies, fusions, scoliosis), GYN, ENT, Eye, Urology, Podiatry, Vascular (fem-pop bypasses), Robotics (DaVinci XI), and more. - Scrubbing is required; scrub experience is preferred. - Collaborate with a designated Charge Nurse and supportive Manager, who is often present in the OR. - OR technicians will be responsible for setting up rooms, collecting and organizing equipment for cases, circulating cases, room turnovers, and assisting other staff as needed. - Utilize Allscripts for electronic medical records (EMR). - Shifts are scheduled by the manager and may include orientation on a different shift from the assigned schedule. Available shifts are 0630-1500, 1100-1930, 1430-2300. - No call requirements for weeknights, weekends, or holidays. - Scrubs are provided, with access to pull them from Scrub X using an assigned card. - Unit-specific orientation comprises 2-5 shifts with a preceptor. - The facility operates at Trauma Level 2 in an acute care setting. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
