About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Step Down **Job Specialty:** PCU Nights **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM **Guaranteed Hours:** **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience **License:** Registered Nurse **Certifications:** Required - Registered Nurse **Must-Have:** - Ability to read telemetry strips **Job Description:** - Work shifts include 4 out of 6 holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day) if starting before November 28. If starting after November 28, work 3 out of 4 holidays. The manager will decide which days. - Small mixed acuity PCU unit with 20 beds and a patient ratio of 4:1. - Nightshift and dayshift educators available; Assistant Nurse Manager out of staffing every shift. - Top diagnoses/procedures include Sepsis, Acute Kidney Injury, respiratory illnesses, general surgery cases, Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response, etc. - Common equipment includes IV & PCA pumps, Wound Vacs. - RN should be capable of managing equipment such as CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, dialysis fistula care, PICC/central line management, and feeding tubes. - Required skills include IV insertion, blood draws, and wound vac management. - Minimal medication titration needed, with common medications including drips like Heparin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem. - EPIC charting proficiency required. - Scrub color is Galaxy Blue, but not provided.
