About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Intermediate Care/Acute Overflow **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 per week **Experience:** Minimum of one year of nursing experience **License:** Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider (AHA or ARC) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA or ARC) **Must-Have:** - Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing **Job Description:** - Deliver competent clinical nursing care in line with professional standards. - Report to and be accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director. - Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting. **Essential Duties:** - Participate in identifying and meeting your learning needs. - Attend educational programs based on identified learning needs. - Use patient education materials relevant to the patient population. - Assess readiness to learn of the patient, family, or caregivers. - Evaluate care and identify expected patient outcomes. - Work with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care. - Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care. - Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems. - Utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures. - Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs. - Consult with appropriate resources regarding complex care issues, teaching needs, and high-risk discharge planning. - Develop goals to promote professional growth. - Participate in intra/interdepartmental collaboration and development of unit goals. - Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment. - Recognize data from complex situations to determine care priorities. - Collaborate with patients and families to update care plans. - Use communication to convey planning. - Address cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning. - Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems. **Schedule Notes:** Flexibility required during holiday weeks with limited to no requests for time off approved around holidays.
