About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - PCU **Job Specialty:** Oncology **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12 Hour Days **Guaranteed Hours:** 48 per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of general nursing experience **License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification preferred **Must-Have:** EPIC experience (especially for first-time travelers) **Job Description:** - Work in a mixed acuity unit comprising Intermediate Care, Telemetry, and MedSurg. - Care for oncology patients including those with surgical needs, new diagnoses, complications, and extended chemotherapy infusions. - Handle medical overflow and intermediate level care with telemetry monitoring. - Manage patient ratios of RN 1:4 during both Day and Night shifts. - Collaborate with Certified Nursing Assistants with a ratio of 1:8. - Support from a 24/7 Charge Nurse, Clinical Resource Nurse, and Respiratory Therapist. - Perform peripheral blood draws; RNs to pull from Central lines. - Use of the Epic charting system, Alaris, and Omnicell equipment. - Float within various Adult Inpatient Units as needed. - Participate in a weekend rotation and holiday work as required. - Adherence to monthly audits for Pre/Post pain scoring with a compliance requirement of 90%. **Additional Notes:** - Navy blue scrubs are mandatory. - Orientation includes facility and online education with unit-specific shifts supervised by a qualified preceptor. - Time off approval for 1.5 weeks, with extension to fulfill contract duration. No time off during specific annual events. This position welcomes first-time travelers with more than a year of nursing experience.
