About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - PCU **Job Specialty:** Ortho Neuro Surgical (ONS) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12 Hour Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Intermediate/Stepdown Level RN: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required **License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** - EPIC experience for first-time travelers - Comfortability with MedSurg assignments - Ability to read/interpret cardiac strips **Job Description:** - Work in a 64-bed mixed acuity unit with Intermediate Care, Tele, and MedSurg patients - Manage a variety of patient types including surgical, ortho, neuro/spine, and general medical cases - Perform skills such as chest tube care, trach care, NGT tube management, and wound care - Administer medications including drip titration for Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and others - Operate in a team structure with 8 patients per pod, 2 RNs, and 1 Nurse Aide - Floating to any Adult Inpatient Unit within scope of practice may be required - Participate in 2 days of orientation and 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor - Work schedules include a weekend rotation with potential for working every weekend - Comply with hospital audits and maintain a 90% compliance rate Please note that time off requests must be approved, and holiday requests are currently not accepted. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs.
