About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - PCU Float **Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medical/Surgical, Neuro Float **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) **Guaranteed Hours:** N/A **Experience:** Minimum 3 years required **License:** NC or Compact license required at time of start **Certifications:** ACLS, BCLS, NIH **Must-Have:** - Experience with Telemetry, Vents - Minimum 3 years experience, not accepting first-time travelers **Job Description:** - Ratios: Flexibility required; patient ratio 1:3-6, adjusted based on patient populations (PCU-M/S). - Shift: Night shifts only (36 hours); contracts from 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025. - Float Requirement: Candidates will work with the Centralized Resource Nursing Pool, floating across multiple campuses and various units including medical/surgical, cardiac, progressive care/step down, and stroke. Staff are notified 2 hours prior to shift if floating is required. - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. - Contract staff participation required for Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster scenarios. - Patient Diagnoses: Care for a diverse range of diagnoses, from medical surgical to cardiac, progressive care/step down, and stroke. - Special Procedures: Must handle a broad range of inpatient care procedures. - Unit Systems: Proficiency in PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR. - Orientation: 24 hours unit orientation; additional non-billable online modules required pre-start. - Scrubs: Navy - Candidate must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty. - During periods of increased census, patient ratios may be higher. - Candidates must be comfortable with job flexibility and floating to other units as needed.
