About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Pediatrics - Surgical Unit **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** 2 years in pediatric surgical ortho experience **License:** CA License required **Certifications:** BLS, PALS **Must-Have:** - All requested time off (RTO) must be communicated upfront - Must work 2 out of the 3 major holidays **Job Description:** - Provide high-quality care to pediatric patients in a 42-bed surgical/ortho unit, focusing on pre/post-operative care. - Care for patients with various conditions including neurological, craniofacial, urology, and orthopedic issues such as scoliosis, sports injuries, and fractures. - Manage patients with chronic conditions like cerebral palsy or other neuromuscular problems; excludes cardiac patients. - Assist in the rehabilitation of mostly traumatic brain injury patients. - Be flexible to float within the hospital, including NICU satellite locations, as needed. - Complete all mandatory training modules before starting; note that these modules are non-billable. - Adhere to all compliance requirements with respect to documentation deadlines. - Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a patient ratio of 1:3-4. - Required to have up-to-date flu vaccination, with no exemptions allowed. **Additional Details:** - Travelers are required to use correct DOB for system passwords to avoid delays in orientation. - Perm staff needs a year's wait before eligible for travel assignments. - Mileage is reimbursed at the standard rate when traveling for NICU and HomeCare positions.
