The PreAdmission Testing (PAT) Registered Nurse, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Ambulatory Care Manager is responsible for collaborating and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all preadmission testing and requirements are met prior to the date of the scheduled procedure. The Registered Professional Nurse provides competent, compassionate care by assessing the patient's physical and psychological readiness to undergo the planned procedure. The PAT nurse is accountable for patient/family education in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team and the patient/family. This role includes working in Infusion Therapy and Same Day Surgery units.

- QUALIFICATIONS
Professional/Educational
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Current Illinois license with biennial renewal and required CEUs.
Basic computer skills; Meditech experience preferred.
- Previous surgical or ambulatory care nursing experience with use of ASA assessment.
- Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.

- Demonstrates leadership and teaching ability.
- Possesses excellent assessment, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills.
Must be patient centered and committed to enhancing patient care and safety.
- Must possess a strong attention to detail and be able to do multitasking efficiently and effectively.
- Good communication skills.
